What should I do for lunch?

During the school day at Grandview Heights High School there is one question going through every ones head, what should I do for lunch today? So what are the most popular answers to this question?

I have interviewed many students at Grandview Heights High School to find out the answer, what do the students of Grandview Heights High School usually do for lunch?

First I asked the students what their usual lunch plans were. "I go out to lunch with my friends to places like Chipotle, Noodles, or Panera, but if I'm not going out to lunch with friends I drive home and eat food there," said senior, Leila Manirochana.

Senior, Kelsey Senter says, " I usually go home for lunch".

Seniors Abby Hanson, Stephanie Lepsik and Gretchen Giltner say that they go to Abby's house for lunch on most days.

“I stay in the cafeteria on boring days,” says sophomore, Sarah Kaltenecker, “and I eat outside when it’s nice out.” Sarah also says that every Friday her and her friends go out to eat during lunch.

“I stay in the cafeteria on boring days,” says sophomore, Sarah Kaltenecker, “and I eat outside when it’s nice out.” Sarah also says that every Friday her and her friends go out to eat during lunch.

Sophomore, Sarah Garnon said that she packs her lunch and eats in the cafeteria on most days but twice a week she goes out with friends.

The result of this informal servey seems to lead to the conclusion that many of the students go home for lunch or go to a friend’s house and enjoy a group lunch. Another popular daily lunch activity is packing a lunch and eating in the cafeteria with a group of friends. Many of the people I asked had an answer that involved spending there lunchtime with friends.

The second question I asked people was, what is your favorite thing to do for lunch? This is what I found out. Most of the people I interviewed liked going out to eat.

Abby Hanson, Stephanie Lepsik and Gretchen Giltner said they all love it when Abby’s dad cooks lunch for them, especially when he makes them pancakes. Gretchen also said, “another one of my favorite things to do for lunch is going to some place special”.

“I love going out to lunch with my friends,” says Kelsey Senter, “and I like how we have long lunch. It allows my friends and I to have more time to talk and go somewhere that we don’t get to go to very often.”

Sarah Garnon said, “My favorite thing to do for lunch is go to Panera, especially in the winter because I can get soup and hot chocolate.”

“I like going to the choir room and playing the piano, badly I might add, and hanging out with my friends,” Austin Lewis told me, “It’s nothing special, but its fun and I enjoy it a lot more than just sitting in the cafeteria.”

“Going to Noodles and Co. when it’s a long lunch is my favorite thing to do for lunch,” Sarah Kaltenecker says, “I order a big bowl of pasta so I can be full for all the classes I have the rest of the day!”

Leila Manirochana’s favorite thing to do for lunch is going to Piada or Tai’s Asian Bistro, “the food is delicious” she said, “it’s a little far for a normal lunch day but I have made it to Piada and back on a normal lunch day before.”

It seems like many of the people love going out somewhere special for lunch but also doing something small and special with friends is a fun and less expensive way to spend you lunch time too. Even though its not a big event its still a favorite for some of the students here at Grandview Heights High School. Lunch is the most social part of the school day, it’s a great way to stay in touch with people you don’t see outside of school very often.
