Katie Clifford

Katie Clifford serves as a partner with Schuster & Clifford, L.L.P. Schuster & Clifford focuses on preventative education law for higher education institutions. Most recently, Schuster & Clifford was employed by the state of Iowa Board of Regents to review, revise and provide recommendations for Student Sexual Misconduct policies for the five Board of Regent Institutions. In addition to her partnership, Katie serves as hearing Officer for the Ohio Department of Education and provides consulting to a wide array of public agencies on public sector issues. Prior to opening her own consulting business, Ms. Clifford served as the Ohio Attorney General's Education Section Chief. As Chief of the Education Section, Ms. Clifford advised fifty-three Ohio public colleges and universities, the Ohio Department of Education and oversaw all litigation for such institutions. Ms. Clifford also served as Assistant Chief Legal Counsel for the Auditor of State's Office. As Assistant Chief Legal Counsel, Ms. Clifford advised public entities on Ohio Sunshine laws, public finance laws, and advised the Auditor of State's Office on internal employment matters. In addition to her government service, Ms. Clifford was employed by Means, Bichimer, Burkholder and Baker, Co., L.P.A. and served as legal counsel to school districts throughout the state of Ohio. Ms. Clifford represented over twenty-five K-12 educational districts in a wide array of litigation matters and general legal counsel. Finally, prior to her legal career Ms. Clifford was employed by the governor of Illinois as a Legislative Assistant on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. Ms. Clifford received her undergraduate degree from Miami University of Ohio in 1995 and her Juris Doctorate degree from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1999. Ms. Clifford is admitted to practice law in the state of Ohio, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

John Kessler

John Kessler was appointed to the Board on January 31, 2009, and served out the term of Suzanne McCleod, which ended December 31, 2009. John was elected for a full-term in Novenber 2009 and is currently serving a four year term which began in 2010. John is the Deputy Chief for the Division of Soil and Water Resources at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. He has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in civil engineering from The Ohio State University. John and his wife Gladys have twos sons, Jack and Joseph. Both attend Stevenson Elementary. John and Gladys have lived in Grandview for over 13 years.

Debbie Brannan

Debbie and her husband Mike have lived in Grandview for 20 years, and have 2 sons at GHHS and a daughter in middle school. Over the years Debbie has been actively involved as classroom volunteer, in PTO, coaching MathCounts, Band Parents, and other various school activities. She co-chaired the successful 2010 school levy, and is the Treasurer for the Grandview Heights / Marble Cliff Education Foundation. Having graduated from OSU with a BS in Electrical Engineering, Debbie has always been interested in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) fields. Before kids, she worked for 10 years at IBM as a Product and then Systems Engineer, and enjoys being in a "tech support" role. Debbie is currently serving her first term on the Board, having been elected in November 2011.
